Within a few hours of this article appearing in the Gazette and on this web site, ePilot made the decision to cancel their Beta testing and launch of their link system. We applaud them for their speedy action and correct decision.
If you have canceled your account with ePilot over this issue, please reinstate it and put the money in that you normally would. Show ePilot and other directories that it pays to act as the webmaster's partner and not an enemy.
Mamma.com also contacted us with the information that while they are a partner site with ePilot, they had no knowledge of this proposed traffic generation technique by ePilot and would not have participated if it ever went online.
Hard as it might be to believe, another ScumWare Links service is in Beta testing. Guess some people on the Net are just unaware of what is going on in the world. They need to get out and visit some sites other than their own. Or read a newspaper. Or listen to a radio show.
ePilot is an existing Pay-Per-Click directory that I thought was doing OK financially and seemed to be growing. Guess I was wrong based on the desperate measures they are taking to earn a few bucks without doing any work themselves.

So, they have come up with "a new form of targeted online advertising"? Sounds like TopText and Surf+ to me. Just another system to grab the money that is currently supporting free content on the Web that ScumLords are too lazy to create themselves.
They don't state what color their ScumLinks will be, so we can't update our ScumWare logo yet.
If you have an account with ePilot, let them know how much you appreciate their hard work to steal your traffic and money. Some of what they steal will be traffic they just delivered to your site and charged you for. Tell them that your account will not be funded any more. When your deposit runs out, bye-bye ScumLords.

It is interesting to see that ePilot has "partnered" with mamma.com. Guess mamma.com just can't stay away from ScumWare.
